We are at an important inflection point in global society. The rules and behaviors that got us here will not take us forward. This is the time for women, and especially women of color, to take our newly cleared seats and write our legacy about what comes next. In order to do so, we need to look at power in new and innovative ways - ways that pull from ancient wisdom and the feminine divine. In this Masterclass, Deepa will challenge us to share our definitions of power and explore how the idea varies in contexts across the globe. She will push the group to develop one forward definition that may work for all of us.
Deepa Purushothaman is a global DEI leader and expert on race and gender issues. She is currently writing a book Inclusion Delusion with Harper Collins and is also a WAPPP Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School where she concentrates on research to combat systemic racism in corporate structures to help women of color rise. Deepa recently cofounded nFormation to help place women of color in C-suite positions and on Boards. Prior to this, Deepa was a senior Partner at Deloitte where she spent over 20 years. Here she spent several years focused on growing their Social Impact Practice, as National Managing Principal of Inclusion, advising Fortune 100 clients on issues of diversity and inclusion, and as the Managing Partner of WIN, their pioneering, globally renowned Women's Initiative. She was the first Indian-American woman to make Partner and one of the youngest people to make partner in the firm's history.
